MPB DAY -- Save the Date!

Friends, it's time we met, don't you think?

On Saturday, August 13th @ 11 am, we're going to do just that -- it's MPB Day!
Here's the itinerary:

We'll be meeting outside the Fashion Institute of Technology, located at Seventh Avenue and 27th Street.  See that sculpture up top?  That's the place!   (Directions here.)

First, we'll visit the latest FIT exhibit, Sporting Life (Admission is free).  If you've never been to an exhibit at FIT, you're in for a treat!

Next, we'll grab lunch just around the corner at Brown Cup, a spacious, self-serve cafe on Eighth Avenue and 27th St.   (We'll be there from approximately noon to 1 pm -- late arrivals can meet us there.)

But wait -- there's more!

We'll then walk up to the Garment District and visit some of my favorite fabric stores.  They're not all open on Saturday, of course, but many are.  If there's a store you especially want included, please let me know.

We'll shop away the afternoon and maybe grab a frappé, or other refreshing treat, at the cafe in the Japanese bookstore, Kinokuniya (where they sell those wonderful Japanese pattern books), on Sixth Avenue near 42nd Street.

Expect the day to wind up around 5 pm.

Special bonus for early risers!

Those who wish to begin the day earlier can meet me at the 25th Street entrance to the Chelsea Flea Market at 9:30 am and spend an hour or so hunting for treasures!   We'll meet outside The Garage, just west of the southwest corner of Sixth Avenue and 25th Street.

I'll be posting reminders over the next month, but please RSVP by sending me an email at peterlappinnyc at gmail dot com, so I can get an idea of numbers.

If you know you'll be joining us at the museum, the flea market, or Brown Cup, let me know that too.

PS - This is a rain or shine event!

Hope you can make it!
