I love to cover events which benefit good causes like the Boys and Girls Clubs of the South Bay and the Harbor City/Harbor Gateway Chamber of Commerce.  It's even more fun  when it's a Hawaiin Luau with great food and entertainment.....  I wanted to take more pictures of Chamber people and guests but my batteries ran out(:   While at the luau I met some representatives of "Soles For Life" there.  They collect shoes and in partnership with edgeoutreach.com they sell them to vendors in developing countries, creating desparately needed mico businesses.  The shoes are then purchased at affordable prices by people, protecting their feet from parasites and infection.  Edge uses the funds to build inexpensive water purification systems which produce 10,000 gallons of clean safe water everyday.  People are healthy enough to work, children can now go to school becuase they are drinking clean, safe water and wearing good shoes.  What a great philanthropic  idea.  Visit http://www.solesforlife.com/ for more info and have a great day......  HH(:
